UVista offers a safe, FDA-approved, photo-stable sunscreen agent (PBSA) that has been demonstrated to cause zero irritation or blurring of one’s vision. We have combined a powerful sunscreen agent with a glycerin-based artificial tear formulation that keeps the ocular surface lubricated for hours and does not wash off due to blinking/water exposure.
In the laboratory, we have demonstrated an ocular residence time of 90 minutes with a single drop, with an in-vitro calculation of an SPF of 4 on SKIN (considering the human skin is under direct exposure to UV light, an SPF of 4 on skin would be the equivalent of an SPF of 20+ on the conjunctiva, which is only exposed to indirect UV exposure).
