Though
born and brought up in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province, south
of Shanghai, Lu Xun, China’s most prominent writer
in early twentieth century, spent a number of years in
Shanghai. The house located at 9 New Continental Village,
Shanyin road, was Lu Xun’s residence between April
1933 and October 1936 when he died. Lu Xun’s Tomb,
originally located in a public cemetery in the city’s
western suburb, was moved to Hongkou Park in 1956. The
Lu Xun Museum, like Lu Xun’s Tomb, is located in
the park. In it are exhibited his manuscripts, different
editions of his works, and other related materials.
