Yuan Capital Wall Park

Great Capital (Dadu), located on the present site of Beijing, was Kublai Khan's contribution to early urban development in northern China. This Yuan Dynasty capital was protected by earthen wall, the remains of which can still be seen on the eastern side of Xueyuan Road in the northern suburbs. Jimen Bridge of the Third Ring Road slices in two the long north-south strip of protected land, which has been planted with scholar trees, pines, Chinese white poplar and walnut. At the southern most tip, a statue of a Yuan Dynasty warrior and stone tablet record the 700-year history of the wall.
