The Museum of Chinese Science and Technology on northern section of the 3rd Ring Road presents both permanent and short-term exhibitions. That on ancient Chinese technology, introducing astronomy, the compass, gunpowder, bronze smelting and casting, papermaking and printing, was a favorite in it time.

The displays of modern science and technology-electromagnetism, mechanics, heat, acoustics, optics, nuclear technology and information technology-are organized to encourage participation.
